How I Became A Dancer

I began as a dancer back in the 80's as a Break Dancer and Popper in the San Fernando Valley. My friends and I would do dance battles all around the neighborhoods in the valley. I was known to be a Waver, Glyder, and Tutter. I am part of the O.G. Popper's Picnic in Griffith Park, where many old school Popper's around the world gather every year. I continued dancing into the 90's, where I joined the early House Dance Club Scene in Los Angeles. I am one of the original Rebel Style House Dancers that battled at the infamous Arena with DJ Irene and The Dome where Dj Richard Humpty Vission and many other famous House Dj's became known. Later, I started dancing Swing at the infamous Derby Club. I started pursuing others dances like Salsa, where I was taught by some of the best. I was one of the earliest Bachata Dancers to popularize the dance at Club Silhouette and Mama Juana's. I took many classes and workshops in dance: Salsa, Bachata, Cumbias, Merengue, Cha Cha Cha, Zumba, Swing, House, Popping, and Ballroom. I enjoyed a workshop in original Colombian Style Cumbia Dance. I joined several choreography teams. I took dance instructor training courses at various famous dance schools. I was under the wing of various Salsa instructors and substituted for them. I worked at famous dance studios, such as Debbie Reynolds, Hamas, Madilyne Clarke, Red Hot Ballroom, and Fox Studio, as a sub and dance instructor. I have been Zumba dance certified as well. I am one of a few dance instructors that teaches original style Cumbias and Rockabilly Jive, popular in the Rockabilly scene. I have a passion for dance and been doing this for many years. Dancing is a way of life.

If you have a group of people and would like me to create and open a class for you contact me. The session will be five 90minute classes and will cost only $60 per person which is a good deal. The group class cannot conflict with my regular classes. I can teach the following styles: Salsa, Bachata, Cumbias, Cha Cha Cha, Merengue, Swing, Rockabilly Jive, Hip Hop/Popping, & Techno House.

Prices for Dance Lessons:

I go by sessions. One session is five 90 minute classes. Regular classes with other instructors are only 60minutes. But my classes are longer. They are longer for several reasons: you get to learn more material, you get to familiarize yourself with the dance with confidence, you get to practice more, and we cover repetitive drills that will break you into the dance. Most classes that I have seen are very brief and it takes more classes for you to progress and dance with ease and confidence. This is why I do 90minute sessions instead of drop ins. You cant become a good dancer with one class as most amateurs think. It takes practice and dedication. Since my classes are 90 minutes I charge $65 for one person per session. I give discounts if you bring a partner and other people. Everyone will get a $5 off discount which will be $60 for each person per session. You save with my prices because even with $65 my five 90 minute classes are equivalent to seven sixty minute classes with an extra thirty minutes. So other instructors would charge you seventy five dollars since their classes are ten dollars a class. On the long run those other classes will cost you more and you will not progress that much since you have less practice time. Now if you bring others you will save even more. So try my sessions and you will save more on the long run.

For private lessons, I charge $50 an hour for one person only. This is the cheapest deal in town. I seen other prices by other instructors and they are expensive. If you are a lady no partner needed. I had women take private lessons with me and they have progressed very quickly. Men need a female partner. For two people I charge $75. Private lessons limited to one person or two people.
